questions
At Luminosity Wellness, we believe that clarity is empowering. Whether you're new to Naturopathic Medicine or simply exploring a different approach to your health, it’s natural to have questions. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common things people ask when beginning their journey with Dr. Holly Kendra and Luminosity Wellness. If you don’t see your question here, we’re always happy to connect directly.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit is either an Alignment Consult or part of the Wellness Welcome Package. This time is all about you - your story, your goals, and where you’re feeling stuck. We’ll explore the big picture and begin outlining a path toward healing. You'll leave with clarity and next steps.
What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic Medicine is a system of care that treats the root causes of illness and supports the body's natural healing processes. It blends modern science with traditional therapies, focusing on prevention, nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle, and therapeutic touch.
Are you a licensed doctor?
Dr. Holly Kendra is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Washington State and practices in Michigan, a pre-licensed state. While she is not currently recognized as a licensed primary care provider in Michigan, she brings years of clinical experience and trauma-informed, whole-person care to her work here.
Do you prescribe medications or order labs?
Dr. Holly does not currently prescribe medications in Michigan but can review your current prescriptions and support you in asking the right questions with your primary care provider. She can recommend and help you understand functional and conventional lab work through third-party labs.
How do I become a client?
Start by booking a free 15-minute Alignment Consult. Once scheduled, you’ll receive intake forms, a welcome message, and everything you need to get started.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes! Many of our services are available virtually, including Naturopathic Coaching, Wellness Packages, and the Elemental Wellness Program. Bodywork, sauna, and light therapy sessions are in-person only in North Muskegon, MI.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not accept or bill insurance, and we are unable to provide superbills for reimbursement. Because Michigan does not currently license Naturopathic Doctors, we are not recognized by insurance companies within the state.
At Luminosity Wellness, we choose to operate outside the insurance-based model intentionally. The conventional insurance system is built around sick-care...reactive, symptom-focused, and designed to manage disease once it has already developed. It limits the time, depth, and individualized care that true healing requires.
Our work is different. We focus on root-cause resolution, prevention, and rebuilding resilience at every level - physical, emotional, and energetic. This type of care can’t be rushed, coded, or constrained by what an insurance company deems “medically necessary.” Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.
If you need a referral to a Primary Care Provider (PCP) for medical exams, prescriptions, or lab work billed through insurance, we are happy to connect you with a trusted licensed provider in the area. Many of our clients choose to keep both, a conventional PCP for acute or emergent needs, and Luminosity Wellness for deeper, long-term transformation.
Do you offer packages or memberships?
Yes! We believe in continuity of care. Clients often see the most transformation through coaching packages or our monthly wellness membership, which includes sauna, light therapy, and custom bodywork. Learn more on our Work With Dr. Kendra page.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged the full session fee. Life happens, please just communicate when you can.
We’d love to connect.
